Ugly Cookies
Up in snowy Finland, we are used to our own types of sweets: salted liquorice and other types of goodies. Although the list of sugary treats expands every day, and the nations get to taste multiple new brands, one thing has always stayed the same - Finnish cookies are always hard-baked. The crispy treats have long been the only choice for the public, leaving them out of the broader world of baked goods.
All changed when one family decided to share their baking secrets with the nation. Ugly Cookies is a family business with roots that follow across the pond to the United States, where soft-baked cookies are a commonly known delicacy. In my photos, I have tried to depict this warmness of home, family, and love with a bit of minimal Finnish twist.
